JUDI (JAN) LIDSTONE It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Judi after a long battle with breast cancer. Judi passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the age of 61. Judi is survived by her husband of forty years Harry, her parents Ivor and Judy Cox, sister Leslee (Cliff) Doell, brothers Gord (Moe) and Dave (Joanne), brother-in-law Barry (Susan) Lidstone, sister-in-law Janice (Rolly) Blaquire, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and extended family. Judi was a role model for her entire life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 15 years ago, and inspired many people during her journey while she battled this devastating disease. She inspired her students, friends, and family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was one of a kind who will never be forgotten. Judi's induction into the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame came at a time in her life when good news was welcomed. It was a perfect evening shared with family and friends. It was a night she never forgot and was so grateful for. We would like to thank our family, extended family and friends for the love and support during this time. Your prayer comforted and sustained us every day. Thanks to Dr. Grenier and Nurse Elaine, Dr. Kowaluck and Nurse Rose for the professional and compassionate care during Judi's long battle with cancer. Many thanks also to the cancer care team at St. Boniface Hospital who made Judi's journey as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A celebration of Judi's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Canad Inns, 1415 Regent Avenue West. (Adjacent to Club Regent) in the Ambassador Room on the 3rd floor. 204-782-3541 www.kilcollinscremationservice.com

All golf addicts understand that golf is a lot like life. This includes all the good and the bad that happens to you along the journey. Judi was in golf what she was in life-honest. She would say, "Donny, you can't take that putt. You have to putt out!" She accepted all the good and the bad results in her matter of fact way. She treated her illness in much the same way. We will miss her little chuckle and her two-part laugh and her gentle scolding comments. She fought for every minute. Judi did putt out and played the hole to the end. - Posted by: Donald Tougas (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2013

I will miss my golfing buddy and roomie at many tournaments. Judi's positive attitude and determination was an inspiration to all who knew her. Even when dealing with a devastating illness, Judi remained strong and determined and played a high level of golf right through her last season, finishing it off with a strong performance at the Canadian Senior Women's Championship in late August. I will remember my last game with Judi, Harry and Barry at Crowbush Cove in PEI. We will miss her, but she will always remain as an inspiration in our memories. - Posted by: Donna Brownridge (Friend) on: Feb 17, 2013
