RONALD MICHAEL MURRAY BOWES
Born: Jan 12, 1942
Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD MICHAEL MURRAY BOWES January 12, 1942 - March 10, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ron at his winter vacation home in Pahrump, Nevada, at the age of 71. Ron is survived by his loving wife Carol, of 39 years; daughters Jackie (Trevor) Karlowsky; Cindy (Gavin) Specaluk; grandchildren: Ashley, Samantha, Carson and Marshall; brother Donald (Lee) Manych; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, Canadian and American friends. Ron was born in Toronto and raised in Winnipeg. Upon finishing high school, Ron completed an Electrical Apprenticeship at Manitoba Institute of Technology. He began a career that took him from Del's Electric in Winnipeg to the DEW line in the Arctic and back to Manitoba where he spent the next 27 years working for the Provincial Government, first in Winnipeg and then at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre from which he retired in 1998. Throughout Ron's working career he had many business ventures, ranging from farming to satellite dishes and even owning a travel agency. Ron and Carol were fortunate to have spent the last 15 years living at the lake in Lac Du Bonnet all summer and spending their winters in Pahrump. Not wanting to be left out and always having an opinion to share, Ron soon became a member of the executive in the RV park and enjoyed helping plan and make decisions to improve the park. Over the years Ron made many friends on both sides of the border, whether it was talking about old cars, golfing, fishing, playing cards or pool, hunting or quadding, he always enjoyed the friendships that were created from these activities. Often he would pop in to tell you the deal of the day, money he had just won at the casino or that it was time for a cocktail during happy hour. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated or go to your local casino and give that one armed bandit one more spin for Ron. At Ron's request cremation has taken place and no service will be held. His final journey home will be in April and a private interment will be held.

Carol we are so sad to have heard of Ronny's passing. He will be missed by many including us. He was always going out of his way to be helpful in any circumstance. We were fortunate to enjoy both his & your company in Pahrump as well as at the lake. His humour & sarcasm regarding life in general will be missed by all of your friends. We know you are amongst friends in the USA to help you through these trying times. Give us a phone call when you get a moment at home so we can get together when you have time, all our love, Carol & Tom - Posted by: Tom Wylie & Carol Burke (Friends) on: Mar 24, 2013

Dear Carol & Family: We were shocked and saddened to hear about Ron's passing. We've been friends forever--lots of fun times at the lake, trading good-natured insults, watching the kids grow up. It seems impossible that he's gone. Thankfully, you have friends around you for support. We're thinking of you. Carol & Wayne - Posted by: Carol & Wayne Guicheret (Friends) on: Mar 21, 2013

Ron was always a little rough around the edges, but was a great guy and we enjoyed a lot of good golf games and B.S. sessions. Ron will be greatly missed at the annual Crimestoppers Golf Tourney in Beausejour!! He always was good for some chuckles, and known for his cheap brands of beer on the course!! Hit the ball well up there Ronnie!!! We miss you already! - Posted by: Wayne and Val Laurie (Co-Worker/friends) on: Mar 21, 2013

Dear Carol and Family, It was with deep regret that we heard of Ron's passing. Ron or as we knew him Bowsey, was always very kind to us and we always enjoyed his visits. He helped me a great deal at the lake and I always appreciated that. I will miss his unique sense of humour. Sorry for your loss.
