WILLIAM OKUN October 9, 1935 - March 22, 2013 We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of a dear husband, father and grandfather with family by his side at the Selkirk General Hospital. He fought a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. He will be remembered by his wife Pauline; daughter Debbie (Bryan Hill); son Jeff (Varina); grandchildren Meghan Hill, Melissa (Sean Garry), Natalie (Matt Krahn) and Nicholas Okun. He is also survived by his sisters, Anne (late Peter Zuk), Nadia (Claude Hebert), Iris (Jim Bailey) all of B.C.; Sandy (Everett Rowlett) of Saskatchewan; brothers, Mike (Mary), John (Jean) of Winnipeg and Morris (Adell) of Grosse Isle. He was predeceased by his parents Nick (1973) and Nellie (1983). William was born in Ethelbert, MB. He married Pauline on October 18, 1958. William was a self-employed drywall contractor and an active church member. He and his wife loved to travel and spent the winters as snowbirds in Yuma, AZ. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 500 Pacific Ave. Selkirk, MB, with Father Peter Chorney officiating.
