Date of Passing: Mar 29, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAIL FRIEDA KITTNER (nee WATSON) G.G. June 18, 1952 - March 29, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Gail loving wife, mother and grandmother in her sleep on Friday, March 29, 2013. She spent the last evening of her life out having a few laughs and a good time. Mom was predeceased by her parents James and Alfreda Watson. She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 22 years Tony as well as her daughters, Debi, Deanna (Tim), and son Chas, grandchildren, Andreanna, Keah, Samantha and her great-granddaughter Emma. She is also survived by her sister Jemima and brother Alan and her nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End where she spent most of her childhood. She married at 16 and moved to California where her family grew for the next 10 years at which time they relocated to Oakville for the next four years. Then, missing her family, she moved back to Winnipeg in 1982. She took pride in her family and her work, she was a proud member of the Prince Edward Legion where she worked as head bar steward and volunteered for the last 15 years. Gail was an avid reader and loved her crosswords, there was always someone around at the legion to help her figure it out if she was stumped. She was a gentle soul with a huge heart and a big smile, with always a kind word for all. Mom loved her family they were her life. You will be sadly missed but always remembered. Celebration of life to be held at Prince Edward Legion, 300 Trent Ave., Friday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined but donations may be made in Mom's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg. 1839 Inkster Blvd. 1006 Nairn Ave. 204-275-5555

Such a tragic loss. Gail was a great lady, smiling all the time and was always pleasant to everyone she encountered. Your presence will surely be missed at the legion. To Tony, Dianna, and Debbie our prayers are with you at this sad time. - Posted by: Rick Salmon (Friend) on: Apr 05, 2013

Snapshot vivid memories of Auntie Gail... circa 1979 at her home in Oakville MB: Hanging out with Grandma and Gail and the gang at the local bingo hall, then watching "Bad Ronald" on TV, telling ghost stories and staying up late. I remember her listening to her favorite 45 record at the time "Jeans on" by David Dundas over and over with her singing. Of course plenty of Johnny Cash and Jerry Reed too. She always had a laugh and a smile...didn't she? Our lives were made a whole lot richer with you around Auntie Gail. - Posted by: Daniel (Nephew) on: Apr 05, 2013
