Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY DOUGLAS COOMBE November 3, 1936 April 10, 2013 Larry passed away at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 after a lengthy fight with dementia. Larry will be terribly missed by his loving wife: Joan, two sons: Todd (Corina) and Cary, four stepdaughters: Trudy, Joanne (Bruno), Dutchess (Danno), and Susan (Jeff). Grand-children: Vanessa, Cassandra (Corey), Kristian, Sharon, John and Katie and great-grandson: Christopher. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Grayden and Glada Coombe, as well as his first wife Sandra. Larry spent most of his career as Credit Manager of Sperry New Holland. He then opened his own agency Keystone Insurance in St. Vital from where he eventually retired. Larry had a great love of golf and was thrilled when he scored a "hole-in-one" in his very first year of playing at St. Charles Country Club. He also loved model railroading which he continued on a smaller scale in later years as he and Joan moved to smaller quarters. Larry was a really likeable guy and had a wonderful sense of humour. He loved to make people laugh with his deliberate mispronunciation of common names and places. He was an honest, trustworthy individual who was very loyal to his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Many thanks to St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their help, especially Deb, Susie, and Sandy for their care and assistance. Also, many thanks to the special people at Victoria General Hospital for their care in Larry's final days. As per Larry's wishes there will be no service. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Monday, April 15, at 2:00 p.m. at The Parkway, 85 Paget St. in Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3, or to a charity of your choice. Sorry for the loss of your husband and father. (Uncle) Larry was 9 years older and he was someone to look up to in my young and impressionable years. He had the cool racing bike and later on a very cool car...MG I think.
