Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESE GREGOIRE (nee GRANGER) 1919 - 2013 After a 13 year long journey with paralysis following a stroke, Mom died peacefully on April 8, 2013 at Actionmarguerite St. Vital. Thérèse was predeceased by her husband Laurent in 1982, her daughters Lise in 1997 and Florence in 2009, her son-in-law Denis in 2000 and great-grandson Justin in 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory five sons, Guy (Clémence), Laurent (Wanda), Bertrand (Bev), Michel (Michelle) and Jacques; five daughters, Marcelle, Cécile (Joseph), Lucie (Rick), Madeleine (Alan), Denise (John); her brother Jules (Yvette), and three sisters, Sister Cécile, Juliette (John) and Germaine (Marcel). There are 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren that will miss her dearly. Thérèse was born in Letellier and raised her children on a farm and in the town of St-Jean-Baptiste. She was well known for her home being spotless and her ability to cook up a meal for unexpected guests at a moment's notice. Her generous spirit was demonstrated in a variety of ways: babysitting, supplying fresh vegetables and jams and providing a variety of crafts. Thérèse was an avid gardener, excellent cook, wine maker and expert do-it-yourselfer. Her skills and work ethic have been passed onto her children and we are enormously grateful for her generosity and care. Over the past 13 years, Thérèse was a resident of the 3rd floor at Actionmarguerite St. Vital (Foyer Valade). The family would like to thank the staff for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory at Actionmarguerite St. Vital, 450 River Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4. "A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but whose place no one can take." Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. The funeral mass will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15 at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery immediately after the funeral. I have wonderful memories of Madame Gregoire. I was fortunate enough to be her neighbour during my childhood. She was a kind hearted lady. Yes Madame Gregoire was a great cook and always had extra food to share with the Lafond kids. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
