I just found out this week about Vera's passing. Despite the time lapse, I would like to share my condolences with her family. I had met and connected with Vera through her sister, Rhoda. Rhoda was very special and dear to me. Vera visited and helped Rhoda regularly. She was a loving sister to Rhoda and went out of her way to make things comfortable for Rhoda. Brian was a wonderful husband to Vera. You could feel the love when you were in their presence. I hope you find comfort knowing others care - I care. Warm regards, Bev. - Posted by: Beverly Taphorn (friend) on: Nov 10, 2013

Vera was first born of seven siblings and I'm Laura, second born. We were not well off but our parents were fun to live with and we had a very happy childhood. Vera always had drive, foresight and motivation to achieve her goals. We were so proud when she saved to buy ten acres of land outside Winnipeg. Later she and Brian, her soulmate, built a lovely house on that land. With hard work and her natural creativity she and Brian enjoyed a beautiful environment for many years.During her visits to England, Vera took fond interest in Vivi, my daughter and her affection was reciprocated. She had a way with children and recognised and encouraged their talents. With much love, Laura. - Posted by: Laura. (Sister) on: May 12, 2013

I am one of Vera's five sisters. We all loved her very much and although we all live in England, when we visited her and Brian in Canada, it felt so natural to be together as a family. She was so interested in people and loved life, and especially happy with Brian. I'm so thankful to have her as my sister. My name's Bette. - Posted by: Bette (Sister) on: May 08, 2013

Although I knew Vera for only a short time she had a tremendous impact on me as one of the strongest, smartest, caring people I have ever met. The caring devotion between Vera and Brian that I witnessed during this difficult time was something the rest of us could only hope to achieve. I will miss you and our conversations Vera, and wish Brian my deepest condolences. You took great care of her Brian and she loved you for it, always know that. - Posted by: shannon (friend) on: Apr 29, 2013

I am Vera's sister coral, I would like to pay a tribute to my beautiful sister Vera, so beautiful to look at and never seeming to age, she must have been going through a terrible time yet just like Vera she would have done her best not to show us that. Small in stature but so strong in mind. Her love of anything Canadian got her to a point where she became a Canadian citizen, that's what she had always wanted she loved their values loved the people. She married Brian the love of her life, a Canadian of cause. They travelled and filled their life making there home a beautiful place to live in. Vera's garden was always artistic and interesting to be in. She was never boring always creating new things she was interested in all life and people around her Mexican art being one of her great loves. She was elegant smart and clever, and I am proud to have her as my sister. Will love you always Vera coral xxxxxxxx - Posted by: Coral Ellis (Sister) on: Apr 20, 2013

Vera was my older sister, who left England when I was just a child to go and live in Canada, She had a wonderful life with her Husband Brian whom she adored. Vera was loved by all her siblings and their partners here in England, although there was such a long distance between us all, we kept in touch with letters and phone calls, and she will be truly missed by us all, and will always be in our thoughts.....Linda Vera's Sister. - Posted by: Linda Deith (Sister) on: Apr 19, 2013
