JOYCE A. CARTER January 16, 1936 April 5, 2013 It is with love and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mom and Grandma at the Victoria General Hospital. Joyce will be sadly missed by her children, Gary (Debbie), Donald (Terri), Lynda (Dan), Cheryl (James) and Bonny; grandchildren Kenneth, Autumn (Mark), Andria, Alissa, Faith and Hope. Also left to mourn her passing are her brother Calder (Rose) and sister-in-law Eileen. Joyce was predeceased by her brother Bob in May 1994 and very close friend Gene in December 2002. She was the most loving, generous and caring Mother and Grandmother to all of us. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond's glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. A private family graveside memorial service was held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba at Victoria General Hospital. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

I just want to thank both the Mitchells and the McKenzies for all the kind comments about Mom. They are true comments, and they brought back a lot of memories for me, very good memories. Hope to see any of you at any time in the future. Take care, everyone! - Posted by: Lynda Brown (Lamirande) (oldest daughter) on: Apr 25, 2013

Condolences to the entire family. Although it is hard to take some comfort in knowing your mom is out of pain and in the arms of the Lord. She will be the Angel looking out for you. Bonny I know your mom is looking down on you with a loving smile for all that you did for her. - Posted by: Kathy Kelsch (friend of Bonny) on: Apr 17, 2013

Dear Gary, Don, Lynda, Cheryl, Bonny and respective families. On behalf of the McKenzie clan, formerly of 417 Hudson, our most sincere condolences for your loss. We had a great community growing up in the 60's - 90's on Hudson Street and I'll remember your Mom as one of the most influential and fun members of it. I recall her wonderful laugh and great sense of humour. Halloweens were great, you always had to sing for your treat when Joyce answered the door. Gary, Don, Linda, Cheryl and Bonny. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom had such a joyful spirit and energy. Not only was she always there for her kids, but for the whole neighboorhood's kids. We always knew we could count on Joyce, to lend a hand. You would always see her outside tending to her gardens. Rest in Peace now Joyce in the Garden in the sky. - Posted by: Karen Mitchell (family friend) on: Apr 13, 2013
