  • My deepest sympathies to Donna, James, Lisa and family. Hello; My name is Colin Turnbull. I lived accross from Marcel on Barberry Rd. My brother Gordie and I grew up as friends of the Ross brothers. I learned how to play hockey, football, basketball, baseball and golf all in the Ross's back yard. As I recall the versions we played were much rougher and always full contact - even golf! The boys were all very atheletic and I don't remember ever beating them in any sport. The hockey rink was flooded with a hand pump well in the back yard. There was always something to do at Marcell's. Remi made bows and arrows from old hockey sticks, they were very powerful, Marcel went into Frontenac school yard and shot an arrow at the back porch where I was sitting. His mom walked out of the kitchen as the arrow stuck into the wooden porch at her feet - she chased him for half an hour and caught him too. I have many fond memories of Marcel and his brothers. I liked Marcel he was the salt of the earth. My sympathies to family and friends Au revoir mon ami Colin - Posted by: Colin Turnb ull (Friend and Neighbor) on: Apr 18, 2013

  • I worked with Marcel at Shell's St. Boniface refinery from 76-83. I always called him when back in the 'peg as he had a great sense of humour and would always talk to you. A guy who never left a job for someone else to do, too bad, he was still young.... - Posted by: Vic Laird (co-worker) on: Apr 15, 2013

  • It was years before I had another chance to see my great uncle before I did this past winter In February. I had spent many a Boxing Day with the Ross "clan" with my Grandma (Anita), his sister. Was even lucky enough to be the flower girl when he married Aunt Donna, memories are the best and will be held dear to my heart I'm lucky to have had that last conversation, that last hug and share that last laugh. My prayers are with the family. Till we meet again big guy rest in paradise! - Posted by: Gina Layher (Great Niece ) on: Apr 15, 2013
