  • I do not know how to begin or where to begin... My sincere condolences to Rob, Janessa & Kerrigan, the Sigurdson family and to Rob´s family. It seems only few years back when I met Joyce for the first time and to me she looked like "Esmeralda" with two young daughters by her side - one daughter her spitting image and the other one blonde with Icelandic blue eyes - all so beautiful. This might have been 15 years ago or even more. Joyce always so intimate, sincere, and kind of shy but one of the nicest and giving persons one meets. My niece Aldis and my best friends daughter Helga Gudrun did get the best of Joyce´s kindness and goodness - they both love her and send their love to the family. The following Icelandic poem by author Þórunn Sigurðardóttir portray the way we feel - we will light candles in the Memory of Joyce Sigurdson Johnson here in Iceland at 19:30 local time. Helga Gudmundsdóttir, friends and family in Iceland Ég sendi þér kæra kveðju nú komin er lífsins nótt, þig umvefji blessun og bænir ég bið að þú sofir rótt. Þó svíði sorg mitt hjarta þá sælt er að vita af því, þú laus ert úr veikinda viðjum þín veröld er björt á ný. Ég þakka þau ár sem ég átti þá auðnu að hafa þig hér, og það er svo margs að minnast svo margt sem um hug minn fer, þó þú sért horfinn úr heimi ég hitti þig ekki um hríð, þín minning er ljós sem lifir og lýsir um ókomna tíð. - Posted by: Helga Guðmundsdóttir (Friend) on: Apr 19, 2013

  • I had the pleasure of coaching and teaching Joyce. I will always remember her for her smile that lit up a room and for her sheer joy of life. Our sympathy goes out to Robert and family and to the Sigurdson family. You have lost a wonderful woman far too young, but she will always live in your hearts. Cherish the memories. - Posted by: Jim Boaz and June (teacher) on: Apr 18, 2013

  • Our sincerest condolences to the entire Sigurdson and Johnson family. Joyce has left us all too soon. We were lucky enough to have known Joyce and will never forget her. She will be greatly missed, but she has left a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of her friends and family that will live on forever. ♥ Rest in peace, Joyce. - Posted by: Audrey, Allan, Kelton, Jory & Morgan Coates (Furgala) (Long Time Friend) on: Apr 18, 2013
