LEONA NOLIN On April 16, 2013 Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by her children Darren (Kim) and Delaina; grandchildren Aneesa, Brielle and Curtis; Soul-mate Paul; sister Marcy (Matthew) and nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best friend Mary, Mom' (Irene), many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law whom she adored so much. As well as many relatives and friends who admired her courage, her amazing spirit and will to live. She was predeceased by her father Joseph, mother Alice, brothers Edmond and Eddy. Mom was born in Winnipeg where she lived for most of her life. She was employed by the St. Boniface School Division earlier in her life then with Revenue Canada for over 20 years and retired at the age of 63. To celebrate her retirement, she and Paul went on a road trip of a lifetime through the United States, visiting Texas to California within a four month period. She shared her amazing journey with us with so much excitement. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin with Paul taking in the beautiful scenery and fishing. She enjoyed socializing with the many people she met in Lac Du Bonnet. She was so proud of her family and truly enjoyed life. She had a bubbly and cheerful personality with a positive outlook in life which won her life-long friends. Many thanks to all family and friends for their love, endless prayers and support over the past few months. Special thanks to the staff in ICU (St. Boniface Hospital) and CancerCare (HSC) for their care and compassion and especially to Dr. Johnston, who called her his `miracle patient'. In keeping with Leona's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or a charity of your choice. `Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, Loving you always, forgetting you never.' • Leona, our journey together started at 280 Broadway. So many joys, sorrows and memories. One day you brought in 2 little black boots. One for you and one for me. We became the Old Boot friends...and I still have mine. You brought in a book that showed the Harrison's and Nolin's go back to the early days of Louis Riel. Now we are even more closer. We shared many things over the years. You called me to tell me that you met this wonderful man called Paul. You had a wonderful trip together...and when we talked you told me how he was so good to you. You always talked with love and affection about your children and family. I know that you are in a better place and one day I will see you there. Go in Love and Peace my dear Friend. We will miss you but you will always have a special place in our hearts and memories. Love you my friend, Leona...from your Old Boot Friend Lilly. - Posted by: Lillian Harrison (Friend and Co-Worker) on: Apr 22, 2013
