NICHOLAS ADDIE STEFANYSHYN Peacefully on April 17, 2013, after a very brief illness, Nicholas Stefanyshyn passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Nicholas or Nick, as most knew him will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis, only daughter Lorrie (Garen) Pheifer, grandchildren Graham and Austen, sister Irene (Bill) Prokop, sisters-in-law Ollie and Ann Stefanyshyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Annie, brothers, Harry and Tony, nephews Ronnie and Donald, and twin nieces at birth Mary and Ann. Nick was born in Selkirk and raised in Winnipeg where he met and married Phyllis. Nick worked with the Department of Highways from 1965 until his retirement in 2002. During his career he developed many treasured friendships through his work as well as through Phyllis' work and through the church that he treasured until his passing. His fondest prized possessions were not his items but his family, friends and special occasions spent with all. Nick could always be seen puttering in the yard or walking one of his furry friends who will all be wagging their tales in heaven when he arrives. Though gone, his memory will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on April 22, 2013 at Charleswood United Church at 4820 Roblin Boulevard Donations in his memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
