GARY BRIAN LANE Gary passed away peacefully at home in Selkirk, MB on April 20, 2013 at the age of 71 after a year of dealing with complications of congestive heart failure and diabetes. He was born to Vincent and Muriel Lane (Patterson) in Hamilton, ON June 10, 1941. Gary leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years, Marilyn, his son Jeffrey (Deann Senkow) of Selkirk, MB, his daughter Angela (Joe) Laughlin of Cape Breton Island, NS, his grandsons Greg (Michelle), Michael and Garrett Sigurdson (Chelsea), his mother Muriel, his brother Ron of Smithville, ON, his niece and nephew Shannon and Ryan of Hamilton, ON, sisters-in-law Ann (Glenn) Robins of Dane City, ON, Charlene Wristen of Hamilton, ON, Bonnie (Frank) Constable of Gravenhurst, ON, Marsha (Geoff) Austin of Sauble Beach, ON, Brenda (Dennis) Bercier of Brandon, MB, brothers-in-law Bryan Calloway and Wayne (Pat) Lymburner of Dunnville, ON and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Vincent Lane, sister-in-law Louise Calloway, brother-in-law Tim Wristen, mother and father-in-law Orville and Gladys Lymburner. Gary and family first moved to Selkirk in 1972 to work at Barnes Western as manager; returned to Ontario to work for a brief period and then moved back to Selkirk in 1975 where over the years he worked at Liquid Carbonic, Bell Foundry, Canadian Bronze, Progress Rail and retired in 2000 from CAE Vanguard. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed playing baseball and bowling. He coached Selkirk minor hockey and served as an executive member of the association. Gary liked to read, fish, hunt, and watch his grandsons play hockey, baseball and soccer. He enjoyed playing cards, especially the many hours playing cribbage with Lloyd Gunderson. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Selkirk General Hospital and H.S.C. Rehab, his home care workers and the occupational therapists. As per Gary's wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2 or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
