TERESA LEEANN THIESSEN (SIEMENS)
Born: May 16, 1970
Date of Passing: Apr 22, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERESA LEEANN THIESSEN (SIEMENS) It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beautiful, vibrant, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and auntie Teresa on Monday, April 22, 2013, while out on her morning run. Teresa was born on May 16, 1970 in Morris, MB to parents Pete and Laura Siemens, the seventh of eight children. She lived in Rosenort till the age of five, when the family moved to Sanford, MB. Teresa was a very social, happy child, so full of life and energy, and always wearing that brilliant smile. A photo of her without that smile would be hard to find. She attended school in Sanford until the age of 13, when after the passing of her father, the family moved back to Rosenort. Even as a young teenager, the work ethic her parents instilled in her made her an extremely hardworking, independent girl. She had a "Let's get it done" attitude that served her well throughout her life. Her chores were completed in record time and efficiency was key. After her graduation in 1988, she moved to Winnipeg, where she was employed at an optometrist's office. Teresa married her high school sweetheart, Anthony Thiessen, on November 30, 1991 and they enjoyed 21 years of marriage. She was baptized at the Rosenort Fellowship Chapel as an adult. Her faith was meaningful to her and she put it into action by serving and helping others in countless ways. After living in Winnipeg for a few years, Teresa and Anthony moved to Rosenort to begin their family. Teresa worked at the Rosenort Credit Union until the birth of their first child, Pierce Hayden, in 1998. Teresa loved being a mom and she doted on her dark-haired baby boy. When Pierce was almost a year old, he wore a t-shirt to a family gathering that said, "I'm going to be a big brother!" His little sister, Payton Simone, was born on April 14, 2000. On May 27, 2003, little Gabrielle Lauren was born, which completed their beautiful family. Teresa was a busy mom and made good use of her excellent organizational skills. She loved her children with all her heart and taught them her values of working hard and playing hard. She raised them to be strong, confident and independent and did everything possible to make life fun and special for them. Her long-time dream came true in March, when she and Anthony took the children to Cuba on vacation. She was so proud of them and her strength and passion for life is a legacy she has left for her children. Teresa will probably be most remembered for her wit and sense of humour. A quote she had posted on Pinterest sums it up perfectly: "I try not to laugh at my own jokes. But we all know I'm hilarious." To this, she had added the comment, "Hee hee, it's true, I am very funny." And she was. She was quick and witty and could find something funny to say in any situation. She loved to laugh and was in her element when she was with other funny people. She teased and joked with her brothes-in-law, her nieces and nephews, and anyone who would tease back. Teresa's energy knew no bounds. There was nothing she couldn't do. She was a leader, a planner, an organizer, and an incredibly hard worker. She was an amazing cook who loved trying new recipes and a gracious hostess who enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She planned incredible birthday parties for her children, and the cakes she created were truly works of art. She was involved in so many things and helped out in any way she could. She was generous with her time and skills, took initiative and made things happen. She taught Sunday School, she sat on community boards and committees and was involved with Awana for the past ten years. She had recently decided to step down from her role as leader and was honoured last week for her service. She started an event planning/concierge business called Consider It Done, did bookkeeping for Anthony's construction company, and ran a part-time Epicure business. On top of everything else, she had recently gone back to work full-time at the Rosenort Credit Union. Because she was so efficient, Teresa still had spare time. She enjoyed biking, hiking, reading, movies, going to the beach, going out for dinner and spending time with family and friends. She got up early almost every single morning - even on the coldest days of winter - to work out and go for a run. Never one to sit still long, before a family gathering she'd tell everyone, "Bring your runners. We're going for a hike." Teresa's care and love for others will be deeply missed. Her husband, children, and family were so dear to her. She impacted so many lives and made the world a better place. The family hopes you will be inspired to volunteer in your community, church, or school in Teresa's memory. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Anthony and their three precious children, Pierce (14), Payton (13), and Gabrielle (9). Her mother, Laura Siemens of Rosenort, four sisters, three brothers, and their families: Lois and Leroy Friesen, Joshua, Jennifer; Colleen and Brad Kornelsen, Brittany and Tobias, Stefan, Anders and Janelle; Karl and Barb Siemens, Baily and Eric, Arina, Blu; Patricia and Steve Harder; Kurt and Tami Siemens, Madisson, Harley, Eyob; Eric Siemens, Colton, Landon, Rebecca, Olivia and their mother Adrienne; Lisa and Luke Murray, Oscar, Piper, Willow. Her parents-in-law, Ben and Eleanor Thiessen and their family: Jackie and Pat Letkeman, Tyson and Monica, Evan and Briana, Brock, Vanessa; Wendy and Ert Ginter, Shae-Lynn, Annika; Jeff and Lynelle Thiessen, TJ and Jess, Brynae, Hailey, Delainey, Madelyn; Joanne and Keith Pammett, Bethany, Caleb. Waiting to greet her in heaven is her father Pete Siemens who predeceased her in 1983 and her grandparents Abraham and Maria Klassen and John and Mary Siemens. A celebration of Teresa's life will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the Rosenort EMC Church. In Teresa's memory, donations may be made to her children's education trust fund. Please contact Rosenort Credit Union for details. On behalf of the whole family, we would like to thank the first responders and paramedics who worked so hard and were so kind and compassionate, the doctors and nurses at the Morris Hospital, and the multitude of people who have shown us tremendous compassion and love and shared their precious memories of Teresa that confirm what a truly amazing person she was. The gifts of food have been greatly appreciated by our families. We know Teresa will be organizing an amazing homecoming up in heaven for all of us. Until we meet again. Teresa, today I miss you. It's been nearly three years and I selfishly wish you were here. Though I know God called you home, your smile and laughter is missed by those here on earth. May I live up to the example you left. - Posted by: Janae (Friend, co-worker) on: Apr 08, 2016

Oh Beautiful Teresa. Yes...the FUNNIEST person ever. Lucky to have traveled with her, I experienced this for a week straight- 24/7! Her, myself and a cousin of mine, plus a cousin of hers, all had babies within days of each other during the last week of May, 2003. I recall it being a stiff competition as to whose baby would enter the world first. Shockingly, she came in 2nd place :) What a bonding experience THAT was!! Praying for peace to fill the Thiessen and Siemens family's souls. Anthony and kids....hoping you find comfort in her amazingness! - Posted by: Shelli Ross (friend) on: Apr 29, 2013
