LENA BONIN (nee VERHAEGHE) Passed away peacefully in St. Boniface Hospital on April 24, 2013. Predeceased by her husband Paul and her son Ron, she will be lovingly remembered by her children Maureen and Roy (Adrienne), and grandchildren: Jeffrey Jacobs (Julie) and their son Cole, of Thompson; Jolene Jacobs (Drew Figas) and their daughter Essa, of Chicago; Geneviève Bonin-Labelle (Patrick) and their children Etienne and Evangéline, of Ottawa; and Stéphane Bonin (Karyne) and their daughter Maeva, of Gatineau. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. A long-time resident of Norwood, and more recently of the Accueil Colombien at 200 rue Masson, she was hospitalized recurrently over the past several months. The excellent care by St. Boniface Hospital staff and the regular visits she received from family and friends were very much appreciated. Her final wishes have been entrusted to the McCreary Dobchuk Funeral Home, with a funeral mass to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in the Ste. Rose de Lima Church in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB followed by burial in the Ste. Amelie Cemetery. After a long life, she is going home. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or the Ste. Amelie Cemetery, R.R. 2, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB R0L 1S0.
