PETER CECIL BOALER April 1926 - April 2013 Peter, 87, of Richmond, BC passed away peacefully on the morning of April 20, 2013. Born in Nottingham, England before emigrating to Canada with his parents, Doris and Reginald. Dad is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen; five children, Reg (Sharon), Mary (Mike), Wendi, Teresa (Dusan) and Carole (Peter), and five grandchildren, Reggie, Russell, Cassie-Lynn, Robbie and Rebecca. Also survived by his sister Mrs. Pauline Hart, brothers Norman and Ronald, all from Manitoba. Dad served Canada in the Second World War in the navy on a mine sweeper with service on D-Day in the English Channel. After his return to Canada, he took a job in 1946 with The Paul Moore Company in Winnipeg, and in 1960 was transferred to Vancouver. He retired from the company in 1986, after a very successful sales career. A great lover of books, gardening, nature and sports, Dad loved his baseball, football and hockey. He was an avid dart player and played at many Legions in the Vancouver area. Always a kind man, he opened his home on many occasions to family, friends and neighbours, and was always quick with a joke or a funny saying. We wish to thank Dr. Raul Carvalho for his many years of excellent care. The family also would like to thank the many "angels" of the ICU Richmond General Hospital, 2-South who looked after Dad with care and dignity these past six weeks. Thanks to Dr. Justin Wong, Dr. Greg Halgen, Dr. Erik Vu and Dr. Edgar Lau for their compassion and comfort to all of us. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Rd., Richmond, BC at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to your favourite charity. Love you forever Dad!
