DAVID AMAN SMITH 1939 - 2013 David Aman Smith passed away peacefully on April 26, 2013. He was born March 29, 1939 in Llandegai near Bangor and Cardiff in Wales, United Kingdom. Later the family moved to Winnipeg. He completed grade 12 at Vincent Massey Collegiate and obtained a BSC (Botany) and MSC from the University of Manitoba. David was a dedicated and much beloved principal and teacher of high school Chemistry, Physics, Math and Biology from approximately 1961 to 1991 in schools across the province of Manitoba, including Winnipeg. He was a devoted father, friend, educator and counsellor. He also taught Music, English and French. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Smith and his mother Lynne Smith, both of whom he gave devoted 24 hour care in their later years. He is dearly missed by his friend of 14 years: Gloria M. Joshi. Thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses in the emergency department and the 5th floor of the Victoria General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home 204-925-1120. Flowers are gratefully declined.
