Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GALLEY (nee WALKER) April 24, 1926 May 8, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Galley on May 8, 2013 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband Bill. Mary will be missed by her sons Gerald (Gerdy) and James (Terry); and Mary's grandchildren Dr. Ryan Galley (Lisanne), Lindsay Galley, Leah Enright (Jonathan) and great-grandchildren Lily and Wyatt. And her many nieces, nephews and cousins in Edinburgh, Glasgow Scotland. She was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, schooled at Leith Academy an upper middle class private school, where she graduated at third level advanced higher examinations. Mary was head teller at Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh, when she met Bill on leave from his R.C.A.F squadron during the Second World War. They later married during war and returned to Canada after the War. Dad remained in the RCAF and thru his postings Mom lived in 13x Depot Borden, Rockcliffe, 6rd Trenton, Raleigh (Kamloops) BC, 4 Wing Baden, 3 Wing Zwiebrucken, Summerside, PEI, Rivers, MB, Bagotville, PQ, Cold Lake, AB, and finally retired with Bill St. Vital, Winnipeg. Mary loved to travel with her parents and family whether it be cool or warm climates. There are many great memories we all hold of these enjoyable times that will be cherished forever. The support mom received during her difficult times in the last two years from medical professionals to family was very comforting to her. A special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses on Ward 3 at the Grace Hospital, who treated mom with dignity and understanding during her stay. The last thank you goes to Mary Grant, Ted Becker, Francois Du Moulin (Maitre'd), Nurse Jam Kotchuver, of the Shaftesbury Retirement Residence; they went the extra mile and commitment right before she left for the hospital in April and for that I know she thanks all of you. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street, Transcona. If we all remember what was between our loved one's dash, we will see the amount of years they lived and how many of those years we too were blessed to know them. My condolences to the Galley family. - Posted by: Laurie gyde (Friend of the family) on: May 13, 2013
