JOANNE PATRICIA SANTA (nee ZADO) (SMITH) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving Mother and Grandmother on May 7, 2013. Mom was born in Portage La Prairie to John and Dorothy Zado, she lived most of her life in Winnipeg. Mom loved the outdoors especially fishing in Ontario and at the Big Ditch by Gladstone, MB. She loved spending time at her brother and sister-in-law's farm when she could. But most of all she loved to spend time with her granddaughters - gardening was one of their favourite pastimes they would do together. Mom was also a great cook making homemade spaghetti sauce, lasagna and perogies. Left to mourn her passing are daughters Charlene (Monte), and Cheryl (Terry); stepchildren Rorie (Corrie) and Robin (Earl); granddaughters Anna Maria and Sophia, her parents, brother and three sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and of course her beloved dog Sasha. Mom will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Cremation has already taken place. A tea will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to celebrate Mom's life at 707 Leila Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. We miss mom, we love you today, tomorrow and always. You will remain forever in our hearts!
