ANNE OGRODNIK (BILINSKY)
Date of Passing: May 15, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE OGRODNIK (nee BILINSKY) It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother on May 15, 2013, in the presence of family members. Anne was born in Western Ukraine and came to Canada with her family as a youngster. As a young woman she was involved with Ukrainian theatre and various organizations, and always the Church. In 1948 she married Edward Ogrodnik. The family and the farm have always been a nucleus in Anne and Ed's life - the center of family gatherings and celebrations and significant events. Anne and Ed were very good to all of us, their home was our home. Anne's positive attitude was a gift to her family and friends. Her faith in God was unshakeable. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Myketa Bilinsky, her brother Steve, and her beloved husband Edward. Anne will be sadly missed by her daughter Nancy (Mark) Oxenham of England, grandson Matthew of Vancouver, granddaughter Jill of England; her son Garry (Gail) Ogrodnik of Vancouver Island, grandchildren Samantha, Dan (Heather) and great-grandchildren Elliott and Kate of Vancouver Island, BC. Anne is also survived by her sisters Mary (Grant), Stephanie (Oscar), Virginia; brothers Peter, Alec (Josie), and many nieces and nephews. The family thank the efforts of the Emergency Services Selkirk District and Selkirk Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church (off Marcie Street off Gilmore Avenue, North Kildonan.) Private family interment at East Selkirk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School Building Fund, 650 Flora Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 2S5, a particular interest of Anne's or a charity or your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Ann was such a nice lady. Many times when we had coffee together, she was so cheerful and also talking about her children and grandchildren. Her family meant the most to her. Rest in peace my friend - Posted by: elaine smith(Kondratuk) (former neighbor) on: May 21, 2013
