ANNE FEDEROWICH (née PYLATYK) Peacefully, at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, Anne passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2002, her infant son Terrance in 1950, her parents John and Mary Pylatyk, brothers Michael and Paul. She is survived by her children Jerry (Cherie), Roy (Dale), Colleen (Rick) Wor, Glenn (Cynthia), 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Sally Stefanyshyn. Anne was born on January 29, 1928 in Rossdale, Manitoba. After completing grade eight, she worked briefly in a sewing factory and then Christie Biscuits in Winnipeg. On May 19, 1945 at the age of 17 she married her childhood sweetheart and then soldier boy, Albert Federowich. Soon after his return and honourable discharge from the army, the happy couple settled into farming and raising their family in Rossdale. After Albert's retirement from plumbing in 1986, they returned to farming life in Clarkleigh, Manitoba. They moved to Tolstoi in 1991. After Albert's passing, Anne took up residence in 2003 at the Knight's Centre in Selkirk enjoying many games of thirty-one or crib. Mom was very proud of her vocation of being a wife and mother. She was a great gardener, knitter, shrewd card player, and cook. No one ever went home hungry from Baba's. She passed on many of her skills, her talents and her faith onto her family. She took great interest and pride in her children's, grandchildren's, and great-grandchildren's accomplishments. She handled any hardships or challenges in life with humility, fortitude, faith and silent prayerful acceptance. These attributes were especially evident as she dealt with her health problems near the end of her life's journey on earth. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbart's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Rossdale and lunch will follow at the Rossdale Parish Hall. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zoppa and the nurses and staff in the Palliative Care Unit at SDGH for their excellent care, compassion, and support during Mom's stay there. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Selkirk Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice.
