RICHARD CLARENCE GILLETA July 19, 1956 May 28, 2013 With broken hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle, Richard (Rick) Gilleta on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Boniface Hospital. Rick was predeceased by his mother Delora Joy and father and mother-in-law Walter and Julia Olynk. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Melanie, daughter Laura and son David, father Stan, sisters Lillian (Jim), Irene (Frank), Sharon (Brian), nephews Dan, Jeff, Sean and niece Kate. Rick was born in Winnipeg and was raised in East Kildonan. After graduating from the University of Winnipeg in 1978, Rick was employed with the Province of Manitoba in the Winnipeg Land Titles Office where he stayed for the remainder of his career. In 1979 Rick married the love of his life Melanie and together they raised two beautiful children. Rick was a kind, loving and devoted husband and father. He adored his children and always made sure they had every opportunity to have a happy and successful life. He cherished all of his friendships and is now enjoying a "cold one" with his buddy Dale on the other side. Rick fought like a fearless warrior against his devastating battle with pancreatic cancer, far exceeding any predictions. We would like to thank Dr. Daeninck, Tracy and Bunty for the excellent care he received at CancerCare Manitoba. As well, the family thanks the Palliative Care team at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Gifts of flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Rick's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, www.cancercare.mb.ca or Pancreatic Cancer Canada www.pancreaticcancercanada.ca . A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1006 Nairn Ave., Winnipeg.
