ALBERT TURENNE Né le 22 juillet 1918 à Saint-Pierre-Jolys, Albert est décédé à l'Hôpital Saint-Boniface le 28 mai 2013 à l'âge de 94 ans. Précédé dans la mort par son épouse bien-aimée, Yvette (Couture), en 2012 et son fils Gilbert "Jolly" en 2007, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Roger (Pat), Paulette et Yvonne; petits-enfants Christine, Nathalie, Melanie, Nicole, Stefanie et Nicolas, et arrière-petits-enfants Léa, Xavier et Zachary. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses soeurs Fernande, Aline Lacerte de Calgary, et son frère Robert de Nepean en Ontario. Albert a passé toute sa vie active à Saint-Pierre-Jolys, étant propriétaire de l'agence Imperial Oil et du Cinéma Jolys. On se souviendra de lui comme d'un homme intègre, bon travaillant, et perfectionniste. Il vivait sa devise, "Si ça vaut la peine d'être fait, ça vaut la peine d'être bien fait". Il avait un sens de l'humour "à lui tout seul" et n'avait pas beaucoup de temps pour le fla-fla. Un époux, père et Pepère exemplaire, il a su enrichir notre vie et nous montrer la voie à suivre. Un service commémoratif pour célébrer sa vie aura lieu le dimanche 2 juin à 14h30 au Manoir de la Cathédrale, 321, av. de la Cathédrale. Predeceased in 2012 by his beloved Yvette (Couture), and by their son Gilbert "Jolly" in 2007, he will be sadly missed by his children Roger (Pat), Paulette and Yvonne; his grand-children Christine, Nathalie, Melanie, Nicole, Stefanie and Nicolas; and great-grandchildren Léa, Xavier and Zachary. He is also survived by his siblings Fernande, Robert of Nepean, Ontario and Aline Lacerte of Calgary. Albert spent all his working life in St-Pierre-Jolys, where he was the Imperial Oil distributor and owner of the Cinema Jolys. He will be remembered as a man of great integrity, a hard worker and a perfectionist. He dutifully lived his motto, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well". He had his own inimitable sense of humour and little time for "fuss". An exemplary spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he enriched our lives while guiding us down the right path. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place Sunday, June 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Cathédrale Manor, 321 Ave de la Cathédrale in St. Boniface. I knew Albert and Yvette from when I worked at Dr. Fontigny's office, and I have to say they were two of my favorite patients. They always had smiles for me, no matter if they were feeling sick, or in pain. They will be missed greatly. J'ai de très bons souvenirs de travailler derrière le comptoir au Cinéma Jolys. Ton cher papa était toujours professionnel, très fier de son rôle comme propriétaire, voulant offrir une bonne expérience à chaque fois que l'on visitait le Cinéma. Je me souviens surtout du "privilège" de pouvoir sortir derrière l'estrade pour me rendre chez vous. Je me sentais toujours aimée, choyée et en sécurité chez toi avec tes deux parents. Nos sincères condoléances à la famille Turenne et particulièrement à notre bonne amie Paulette. C'est triste quand il y a un départ semblable, mais on doit se rappeler que l'amour d'un père pour ses enfants ainsi que l'amour des enfants pour leur père est éternel. Bon courage à vous tous.
