Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • For over a year trying to contact my dear friend and now just finding out is devastating. Sad others did not contact me as I would have liked to have said my farewell. Never in the history of ice hockey collecting will we ever see his like again. NO ONE will ever possess his knowledge of ice hockey history as it pertains to our hobby. Bill should be remembered as a "Founding Father" of those who are collectors of ice hockey memorabilia. To Bill, a collector, my mentor and most of all a friend whose company and discussions I enjoyed many times over the years, I will miss you. If there is Heaven I know you are talking with all those great NHL players you admired through your collection. - Posted by: Bill Kulick (Friend) on: Aug 01, 2014

  • Bill was a regular at the Tim Hortons I worked at- He was always such a nice guy and quickly became one of my favorite customers. He certainly loved his Timmy's. Rest in peace Bill. - Posted by: Mat () on: Jun 08, 2013

  • So sorry to lose a long time friend like Billy. Memories of growing up with Bill. Our mothers were Legion ladies together and spent time as friends. So young but not forgotten. - Posted by: Donna Toews(Sveinson) (friend) on: Jun 06, 2013

  • Yes, I was shocked like everyone else on Bill Campbell passing. I did not find out till June 4-2013 about Bill, so many of my friends I used to travel the world with are dying. First Bill Medal, Steve Turkitch, and now Bill Campbell. I remember Bill from the band he had called the Shareholders and all his friends we used to party with from work at mrm and a lot of his friends in East Selkirk and Winnipeg and USA. Always talked about sports and one day showed me all his sport collections. I could not believe what he had and one day his collections were seen in the local paper in Selkirk. So sad that I did not know sooner, so I could have been there at the memorial service that was held on Monday June 3 2013. So Bill RIP coming from Lawrence and Brenda Stefanishyn in Steinbach, Manitoba. - Posted by: Lawrence and Brenda Stefanishyn (friend since 1972) on: Jun 06, 2013

  • i met bill in the 90's through the world of collecting. one time i found an ashtray stand at a yard sale made out of mini hockey sticks that turned out to be a piece of official toronto maple leafs memorabilia from the 30's ... there were even litho'd autographs on the sticks and i knew bill was the guy who'd be interested and deserved it. r.i.p., bill. - Posted by: jeff gunn (friend) on: Jun 06, 2013

  • Bill was a dear friend whom we shared many conversations over coffee at our local (timmys) hangout. He had a gentle, caring nature about him. He loved to chat with people and he touched the hearts of everyone he knew. Bill will be sadly missed by sooooo many. Especially our coffee gang! Rest in peace my friend.. - Posted by: Chrissy Panas (Friend) on: Jun 04, 2013

  • So honest, so decent, so unassuming, so gentle, such a nice guy; Bill, we all grew up without fences, just the big grass between our houses - as still. Fare thee well good friend. You'll always be remembered. - Posted by: Tad Ingimundson (neighbor) on: Jun 03, 2013

  • So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I remember as a teenager, Billy, George and Billy M. hanging out together. Bill always promised to teach me to play the accordian but as frequently happens, life got in the way. I will always remember Bill for his big heart. Though we lost contact years ago Bill, you'll not be forgotten. RIP! - Posted by: val waytiuk (friend) on: Jun 02, 2013

  • I always enjoyed my time with Bill, discussing what hockey memorabilia I should be buying or selling. Each time we met at an Expo or a National was filled with great stories. I will miss those times. RIP Bill - Posted by: Dr. Brian H. Price (Business Associate and Fried) on: Jun 01, 2013
