Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL PUSHKAR Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Michael Pushkar, aged 89 years of Winnipeg. Michael was born in Ternopil, Ukraine on March 22, 1924. He married Nelda Kolodiy in 1945 and together they immigrated to Canada in 1948, settling in Winnipeg. Michael was a longtime member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Left to cherish Michael's memory are his son, Bohdan (Maria) of Winnipeg; granddaughters, Natalia (Roman) Rybak and Olia Booyar (Alex Rybak); great-grandchildren, Maxim, Nina, Serhiy, Oleh all of Australia; nephews, Paul Najda (Gail) of Winnipeg; Paul Pushkar (Halia) of USA; niece, Delores Pushkar and family of Montreal; numerous relatives in Ukraine. He was predeceased by his wife Nelda in 2005. Panakhyda will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6 also at the Cathedral with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Goeke, nurse Odette and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to Divine Liturgies for the repose of his soul, or to Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral.
