Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON ALLAN KERNAGHAN 1928 - 2013 It is with great love and heavy hearts that our family says good-bye to Gordon Kernaghan. He died peacefully on June 2, 2013, at River East Personal Care Home, at the age of 85. Gordon leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Margaret, of 59 years, son David (Rose), daughter Wendy (John), five beloved grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also, he is survived by his two sisters, Edith and Evelyn, two brothers, Ed and Leonard, many nieces and nephews, as well as friends and acquaintances. Gordon was born in Morden, Manitoba on March 13. Growing up on the farm, he spent many days working outside; however this did not stop once he moved to Winnipeg. He loved spending his day outdoors working on the yard, meeting new people in the area, and relaxing with family and friends. He also loved to watch sports, and in his spare time, he played hockey, baseball, golf and curling. Gordon worked at TD Bank for 38 years, retiring at the age of 62. At this time, he spent many winters in Arizona soaking up the sun and getting in the occasional golf game. Special thanks to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassion towards Gordon. In accordance with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will occur at a later date.
