CARLYLE (JOE) INGIMAR JOHANNSON September 21, 1928 - June 8, 2013 Carlyle (Joe) beloved husband of Shirley passed away on June 8, 2013 in Selkirk, Manitoba at the age of 84. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley and his four children Judy and Bob Morgan (Tyler), Nancy and Ron Diduch (Lisa, Christopher), Derek and Mary Johannson (Scott, Andrea, Eric, Jenn), Clark and Kathy Johannson (Carly, Lucas, Alana, Will), great grandchildren Julia, Matthew and Joshua, his siblings Alma Angus, Willene (Alex) Owen, Christine Johannson, and Robert (Joan) Johannson and in-laws Florence Simpson, Muriel Dickie and Bill and Nancy Campbell plus many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was born on September 21, 1928 in Gimli, MB. He graduated from Daniel MacIntyre High School and took a job at Great West Life where he met the love of his life Shirley Campbell. After many years in sales he started his own company in 1980, Carlyle Computer Products. Joe's first love was his family and a close second was being a square dance caller and round dance instructor. Joe and Shirley spent many happy hours dancing with friends all over the country. Joe was always positive and optimistic. At his lowest moments he was always thankful for the smallest pleasures whether it be a car ride to Gimli or a trip to Tim Horton's. Joe was a Christian who had a deep faith which helped him through many medical challenges. Special thanks to the dialysis nursing staff and Reverend Anthon Bouw for their love and care. The viewing will be held prior to the funeral service which will begin 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Knox's Presbyterian Church, 341 Eveline, Selkirk, MB Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joe's name to Knox Presbyterian Church, 341 Eveline, Selkirk, MB. R1A 1N1 or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Joe was a unique man. He blended faith, love, loyalty and friendship into his relationships, in his family first, but also with everyone he met. To those who knew him through square and round dancing, these qualities continued to apply. His warmth, zest for life and great sense of humour will be missed by all. - Posted by: Hal & Marilyn Studholme (Friends and dancers) on: Jun 11, 2013

  • Condolences to Shirley and all of Joe's wonderful family. Had it not been for Joe introducing me to square and round dancing (Ben had danced before) life would have been very different for us. He wouldn't take no for an answer so we started lessons two days after we were married and, as a result, travelled the world with our wonderful dance friends. Thank you Joe for giving so much enjoyment to so many for so many years. Now you will have a new class beginning, probably next week. Happy dancing. - Posted by: Ben and Susan Tighe (Friends) on: Jun 10, 2013
