ARTHUR LEONARD LAST On June 9, 2013 at the Boundary Trails Hospital, Arthur Last passed away peacefully with his wife, Anne at his side. Art was born in Carman on January 21, 1930 to Harold and Hilda Last. On April 30, 1957 he married the love of his life Anne Nicolajsen of Sperling. Besides his loving wife, he leaves to mourn and cherish his memory daughter Linda (Ron) Dyck, son Glen, son Rodney (Sherryl), and daughter Allison. Also remembering him are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Stan and Max, and sister Georgina. Dad lived on the family farm for 74 years until his retirement and then moved to their home in Carman. They took great pride and spent many hours working in their yards. He attended Garnett School from grades one to eight, then left school to start his farming career with his father. Even after moving to Carman, he still remained very interested in agriculture. Over the years he served as a Sunday School teacher and music leader, Cub Scout leader, a Sperling School trustee, on the Pool Elevator and Homewood Co-op Boards, and as a municipal councillor. He had a great love of music. In his younger years, he sang competitively at music festivals and at weddings. Dancing was also an enjoyment of his. Family was his first love followed by farming and many other interests. They included all sports especially snowmobiling, go-cart racing, golfing and curling. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participating in sports. Playing cards was something he enjoyed all his life. He and Mom also enjoyed their many trips together and with family and friends. After moving to town, he made special new friends with his neighbours. His was a full and rewarding life and will be missed by everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Boundary Trails CancerCare, P.O.
