RAYMOND GEORGE GRANDMONT January 12, 1923 - June 18, 2013 Peacefully on June 18, 2013 at the Eriksdale Hospital, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Raymond George Grandmont passed away at the age of 90 years. Dad leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 62 years, Ethel; their children, Jean (Walter) Seidler, Gary (Sherrie) Grandmont, Linda (Richard) Kaartinen and Jamie Grandmont; grandchildren, Tanya (Mike), Shaelin, Monique, Cheryl, Lloyd and Christopher (Mandy); brother, Lawrence (Irene) Grandmont; sister, Florence (Walter) Mikkelsen; sister-in-law, Eva (Ernie) Neal; brothers-in-law, Charles (Allison) Hubbard, Edwin (Darlene) Hubbard and Jim Hubbard (Karen); his special friends, Fluffy and Gary; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, George and Rosalie; his in-laws, Charles and Annie Hubbard; brothers, Leon, Emil and Frank; sisters, Yvonne and Cecile; brother-in-law, Wentworth Hubbard; sister-in-law, Elaine Appleyard; also numerous other relatives. Dad enjoyed gardening and wood cutting. He was a school bus driver for 20 years and four months. Ray was a gifted mechanic and operated Ray's Sales and Service for over 30 years. Dad loved to play his harmonica for his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Samy at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Ann and Arnold Larson, and Dr. Burnett, nurses and staff at the Eriksdale Hospital for the wonderful care given to our father. Funeral service will be held at the Eriksdale Rec Centre on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be held prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery, with luncheon to follow.
