CONCETTA RUSSO-INTROITO Surrounded by her loving family, Concetta passed away on June 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Assunta (Leone), Francesca (Vincenzo), sister-in-law Rosaria, nephew Gaetano and niece Angie. Concetta leaves to mourn her brother Gerlando Russo Introito (late Rosaria), nieces and nephews, Julie, Sam (late Angie), Josie (Anders), Antonino, Giovanna (David), Alfonso (Donna), Julie, Leo (Lorraine), Susie (Neil), Sam (Cathy), great-nephews, great-niece and extended family and friends in Canada, Italy and Rockford Illinois. Concetta was born on February 11, 1926 in Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. She moved to Winnipeg in 1959 to join her brother and sister. She worked as a seamstress for over 30 years and enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling the world with fond memories of her trip to the Holy Land. Spending quality time entertaining and cooking for her family and friends was one of her great passions. She was very proud of her Italian culture and heritage. Concetta was actively involved in her Catholic faith and church. She was a volunteer at Villa Cabrini where she lived for 26 years being one of the very first residents to move in. She was kind, generous, and caring individual with a great sense of style. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge with a special thanks to the 3rd floor staff for her care. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on June 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue with Father Sam Argenziano celebrant and visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Assumption Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue. The pallbearers will be: David, Vincenzo and Joe Blixt, Vince and Nicco Galluzzo, Leo, Sam and Dylan Passaggio and honorary pallbearers, Jared, Matthew, Kristen, Nicholas and Luca. Reception will follow at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue. We never lose the one we love forever. Though she's gone, within the hearts of those who cared, her memory lingers on.
