NESTOR LAFOND 20 octobre 1921 au 27 juin 2013 C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre bien-aimé mari, grand-père et arrière-grand-père Nestor Raymond Joseph Lafond à l'âge de 91 ans à l'hôpital de Morris. Il laisse dans le deuil sa femme Jeannette (née Valcourt) qu'il a tant aimé durant 66 années, ses enfants: Lucette (Derek Lavallee), Denis (Monique Alarie), Noella, Normand (Anne-Marie Lapointe), Monique (Roger Lavallée), Rachelle (Robert Tessier), Gérald (Maryse Bouchard). Pépère sera toujours dans le coeur de ses 16 petits-enfants: Suzanne (Jeff) Richter, Christiane Bérard (Devin Szadorski), Joel Lafond, Kevin (Chantelle) Lafond, Darrel (Lori) Lafond, Daniel (Jaylin) Cormier, Brigitte (Tom) Hildebrand, Yan et Maya Lafond, Robert (Mélanie) Lavallée, Richard (Renée) Lavallée, Christine (Jason) Bourcier, Janelle Tessier (Ryan Peary), Derek Tessier, Melanie (Luke) Wattam et Sheldon (Elly) Lafond. Notre père était très fier de vous dire qu'il avait 26 arrière-petits-enfants. Il était le dernier survivant des onze enfants d'Omer et Léonie (née Rajotte). Il a vécu toute sa vie à Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Il a été agriculteur cependant sa passion a été sa famille. Nous en sommes très reconnaissants. Il laisse un grand vide dans nos vies et il nous manquera énormément. La messe des funérailles sera le lundi 1er juillet à 10:00 à l'église catholique de Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Les prêtres Alphonse Bongo et Gilbert Gariépy con-célèbreront la messe. Une présention powerpoint précèdera la messe. L'inhumation des cendres se fera au cimetière de la paroisse de Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Des dons peuvent être faits à l'hôpital de Morris pour l'unité des soins palliatifs ou la Société Alzheimer. Nous tenons à remercier le personnel de l'hôpital de Morris qui ont pris soin avec gentillesse et compassion de notre père pendant les 5 derniers mois de sa vie. NESTOR LAFOND October 20, 1921 - June 27, 2013 It is with much sorrow and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Nestor Raymond Joseph Lafond at the age of 91 years at the Morris General Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Jeannette (nee Valcourt); his children: Lucette (Derek Lavallée), Denis (Monique Alarie), Noella, Normand (Anne-Marie Lapointe), Monique (Roger Lavallée), Rachelle (Robert Tessier), Gerald (Maryse Bouchard). Pepère will always be lovingly remembered by his 16 grandchildren and he was so proud to tell you that he had 26 great-grandchildren. He was the last of 11 siblings born to Omer and Léonie (née Rajotte) Lafond. He resided in Saint-Jean-Baptiste and farmed the land all of his working life; but, his family was his passion and for that we will always be grateful. He has left a huge void in our lives and he will be terribly missed. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Roman Catholic Church in Saint-Jean-Baptiste, MB with Father Alphonse Bongo and Father Gilbert Gariepy co-officiating. The Eulogy and PowerPoint presentation will take place at 9:30. Interment of his cremated remains will follow in the parish cemetery. If people so desire, donations may be made to the Morris General Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to the Alzheimer's Society. To the staff of the Morris General Hospital which dad called home for the past five months: thank you so much for all that you did for dad.
