Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE FIEBELKORN Peacefully, on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Red River Place Personal Care Home, Christine Fiebelkorn, aged 97 years, of Selkirk, MB, passed away. She was predeceased by her parents Gottlieb and Eva Borkowsky; husband Bill Fiebelkorn; daughter and son-in-law Audrey and Doug Willis; son Harvey Fiebelkorn; grandson Todd Fiebelkorn; great-grandson Austin Willis; brothers and sisters-in-law Gottlieb and Christine, John and Lydia, Henry and Louella; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia and Emil Mantie, Minnie and Bert Carriere; brothers-in-law, Jim Rivard, Jack Schinkel, Ed Wonnek and Andy Nehaj. She is survived by her children Bev (Gerry) Beck, Leonard (Dianne); daughter-in-law Ruth Fiebelkorn, Phyllis (Colin) Sutherland, Delores (Bill McCurry), Randy (Debbie); 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Manuel (Ethel), Alfred (Christine), Herb (Doreen); sisters Molly Rivard, Irene Schinkel, Esther Wonnek, Joyce Nehaj, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Christine was born on July 11, 1915 in Bristol, MB, the fifth child of Gottlieb and Eva Borkowsky. She attended school in Bristol. She married William (Bill) Fiebelkorn on April 24, 1935 in Friedensfeld, MB. They spent their married life in the Brokenhead, Petersfield and Selkirk areas where they were blessed with seven children. Christine enjoyed her retirement years and spent many hours quilting, sewing, knitting and doing needlework and puzzles. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and socializing with her family. She particularly liked card games with her siblings. Family dinners and gatherings, especially Christmas and her birthday, were important to her as the family is large in numbers and on these occasions she had five generations keeping in touch with each other. Christine spent her last two years at Red River Place Personal Care Home in Selkirk and the family wishes to extend their thanks to all the staff who so lovingly cared for her and to Dr. Lindenschmidt for his excellent care. Christine was a founding member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, near Selkirk at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Erik Parker officiating. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lyle Willis, Daryll Beck, Craig Fiebelkorn, Jason Sutherland, Rob McCurry, Scott Fiebellkorn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 448, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B3. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
