LYNNE MARIE CHESLOCK (nee FERGUSON) March 23, 1945 - July 1, 2013 It is with extreme sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother and friend. Lynne will be missed forever by husband and constant companion Walter, daughter Jennifer (George Buri), sister Emily (Boyd Gillies), brothers Ed (Val), Grant (Barb) and Dan (Kim); her mother-in-law; brother-in-law; sister-in-law and family; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Lynne is predeceased by her parents Vic and Grace Ferguson. Lynne was born in Russell, MB and grew up on a farm nearby. Upon graduation from Major Pratt Collegiate Lynne entered the education program at Brandon University. Her first teaching position was at Ninette where she met her future husband Walter. Two years later they moved to Minnedosa, taught for two more years then moved to Amaranth. Four years later they moved to Oak Lake where she taught for five more years before becoming a stay at home mom looking after their first and only child, Jennifer. She returned to part time teaching, educational assistance and volunteering. Lynne enjoyed morning coffee with her crew at the local restaurant and her quilting buddies. Several years after retirement Lynne and Walter moved to St. Andrews. She missed her friends and the coffee shop banter but was cultivating new friendships despite poor health. Myeloma sapped her strength but throughout her illness she remained as cheerful as possible. Always concerned about others ahead of herself, Lynne was an outgoing person who loved to be surrounded by friends, family and neighbours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Lynne's memory to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
