Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughters June Renton (Bud - deceased), and Donna Gorman (Ken - deceased) of Fort McMurray, AB; her sisters Lilian (Peter) Kuruliak of Surrey, BC and Joan Gorman; her grandchildren Laurie (Ken), Greg (Mel), Linda (Tammy), Ken, Donald (Connie), David, Jodi (Mark), Mandy (Kevin); and her great-grandchildren Kyle, Breanne, Daniel, Meagan, Adrian, Raven, Destiny, Cassandra, Alexandra, Breanna, Elizabeth, Emily, Jacob and Matthew. Pat was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Don in 2001, her sisters Ethel Dutton and Marjorie Doan, and her longtime friend Audrey Sura. Pat was born to Sydney and Ethel Proctor on March 13, 1921 in Essex, England, the third of five beautiful daughters. She grew up in Winnipeg, where in 1938 she met Don at Assiniboine Park, and they were married on May 20, 1939. They raised their daughters while Don worked as a Winnipeg Police Officer, Detective and Sheriff's Officer and Pat devoted herself to caring for her family and home. They were members of the Fort Garry Legion Branch #90, where they spent many happy hours playing Bingo with friends. Pat and Don enjoyed long drives out into the country for a picnic lunch with their family, and they spent many of Don's days off at Winnipeg Beach or Sandy Hook. Pat lived very independently in her home on Windermere Avenue until the age of 88, when she moved to Fort Garry Rotary Villa and then a year later to Golden Door Geriatric Centre. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care Pat received from the staff at Golden Door until the moment of her passing. A private family viewing has been held, and according to Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Winnipeg, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Farewell Granny. The last time I was with you we drove out to Winnipeg Beach with June. This was in 2010 I believe. We sat at the picnic table and chatted we looked at the old cottage that you used to rent. Finally we went for soft ice cream up the street. I also remember driving back to Winnipeg in a ferocious summer storm. You were concerned that we should stop and pull over. I reassured you that everything was fine and we carried on. Well granny everything's fine. We'll carry on. - Posted by: Donald Gorman (grandson ) on: Jul 12, 2013
