Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOE (JOSEPH) CHOLOSKY Peacefully, after a short illness, on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Joe Cholosky passed away at the age of 88 years with family by his side. Joe was born on April 18, 1925 in Selkirk, MB. He worked at the Selkirk Co-operative Store, Imperial Motors, and Manitoba Rolling Mills as a power engineer for 42 years. Joe had a Life membership at the Royal Canadian Legion #42, Royal Canadian Legion Over 60 Club, Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans #151, Fort Garry Horse Association, and Gordon Howard Seniors Centre. He served overseas in the Second World War with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders Fort Garry Horse occupation army in Germany with 3rd North Shore Regiment. Joe was predeceased by his father in 1957, mother in 1974, brothers Walter in 1986, Mike in 2000, Edward in 2007; brothers-in-law Paul Dutka in 1982, Gus Deptuch in 1989, and John Ellerman in 2010. Joe is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Little); daughter Linda McKenzie (Greg); son Gary (Diana); grandchildren Jennifer (Dave), Kristie, Dena (Jared), Dustin, Lisa (Peter), Kerri Dawn and Jill; great-grandchildren, Journee, Jordynne, Braeleigh, Aubrie, Keirra, Jude, Ella, Solomon and Danielle; sisters Olga Ellerman and Lillian Deptuch. He spent 19 winters in Ajijie, Jaliseo, Mexico; Hawaii, Barbados, a Caribbean cruise and many other places. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
