Marie was born, the eldest of eight children in Ralldvie, Saskatchewan on October 4, 1918. She grew up in the Depression years in Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg in 1945 to work at Pioneer Hatchery. This is where she met the love of her life, Louis Conan. Marie leaves to mourn her husband Louis; her children Etienne, Joseph (Judy), Louis (Gayle), Louise (Fred), Lionel (Loree), Andre (Eileen), Henry (Sandy), Francois (Margaret), Daniel (Kristina); grandchildren Teresa, Brenda, Russell, Kevin, David, Megan, Bruce, Danielle, Leslie, Trevor, Michelle and Nicole; great-grandchildren Cole, Ty, Ryan, Alana and Paige. She also leaves her brother Arthur Melanson (Jenny); sisters Henriette Barbarin and Simone Olmstead; sister-in-law Sharon Melanson and other special members of the family Denise and Debbie. Marie was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Antoinette ( Dandeneault); her sisters Jeanne Slater, Anne O'Connell and Therese Bohn; brothers John and Francois; daughter-in-law Cecile and grandson Steven. She was also predeceased by an infant son. Marie's passion was the love for her family. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mom very much enjoyed playing cards with family and neighbours. She volunteered teaching catechism for many years and was a member of the Catholic Women's League for over 40 years. The family would like to thank the staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital and the Home Care workers for their excellent care and compassion during her time of need. We would also like to thank friends and neighbours for their thoughts, prayers and visits. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher Personal Care Home Foundation Inc., Fisher Branch, Manitoba R0C 0Z0 or a charity of your choice. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Parish, in Fisher Branch. We will miss you Mom, Rest in Peace. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC.
