MARGARET ALMA GOOSSEN (nee WALL) Born August 18, 1930 in Oxdrift, Ontario, Margaret passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at River Park Gardens in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her parents Jennie (nee Andersen) and Timothy B. Wall; sister Florence; sisters-in-law Anne, Joan, Alice; brothers Bill, and George; brothers-in-laws Gordon, Cliff, Albert and Bruce; former husband Elmer. Margaret is survived by sisters Etta, Hazel and Lily; brothers Dave and Bob. Left to mourn her loss are her eight children: Audrey (Bob), Eugene (Carol), Russ (Carol), Christopher (Cynthia), Murray, Gloria, Owen and Cynthia; precious grandchildren, Terence (Suzanne), Nancy (Jon), Morgan, Sarah, Lil, Rose, Matt, April, John, Emma, Adam, Mira and Jessica; and precious great-grandchildren Ayla, Jacob, and Kayleigh She will be fondly remembered as an avid volunteer. Whether canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, teaching Sunday School (Windsor Park United Church) or her many years in Kinettes, and United Church Women. Being a mother of eight children was no small challenge, coupled with her dedication to her husband's business activities, but she did it all with a smile. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing for others as well as her own family, including costumes for her children's many dance recitals. This later led to a career in fitting prosthetics and medical garments - a career that she excelled at and gave her much enjoyment and satisfaction. Mom grew up on the family farm in Oxdrift, Ontario. Her happiest times were at the farm where her free spirit and independent ways were nurtured. She returned as often as she could. Mom loved all children, crafts, quotes, Scrabble, puzzles, reading, and taking long walks outdoors. Mom always made herself available to help others. She had a keen sense of humour. She was a kind and thoughtful person and will be sorely missed. The family thanks the staff at The Rosewood and River Park Gardens for their excellent care over the past five years. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference" A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Viewing will be held prior to service at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
