STANLEY JOSEPH KRULICKI It is with deep sorrow that the family of Stanley Joseph Krulicki announce his passing at the Tudor Personal Care Home on July 21, 2013 at the age of 90. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Dad is survived by Helen, his best friend, his confidant, his travel companion, his true love and soulmate of 65 years. Their marriage has been an inspiration to all who have known them as they were often seen holding hands, dancing and sharing wonderful family celebrations. Left to cherish Dad's memories are his eight children, Barbara (Don) Moreau, Shirley (Michael) Lindenback, Ken (Brenda), Ron (Joann), Kimberly (Keith) Hykawy, Terry (Laurie), Brad (Debbie) and Naomi (Mark) Bilan; 18 grandchildren Marlee, Jarett, Kendra, Garren, Krystof, Trystaen, Garth, Nathan, Erin, Hartley, Timothy, Nikayla, Tara, Travis, Kolton, Austin, Tanner and Torrin; 10 great-grandchildren Daelan, Ethan, Liam, Pierce, Genevyeve, Mychael, Clayton, Peyton, Annika, Brady. Dad's career was varied and included working in a mine, starting and running Stan's Ice and Wood, hauling gravel with his truck, using the truck to contract to Manitoba Hydro, attending Red River and receiving his journeyman carpentry certificate; then started at Seagram's in Gimli. He retired from the company he started with his sons - S. Krulicki & Sons Ltd., operated as Gimli Transfer. Dad's subtle sense of humour gained him many lifelong friends. Dad was involved with hockey, baseball, Cubs and curling. As a citizen of Gimli, he was a member of the Eastern Interlake Planning District Board and was a founding member of the New Horizons. Dad was one of the original recyclers and could fix anything and nothing was thrown out until Dad was convinced it could not be fixed. Dad's "boys" all thought that Geedoo was the strongest man in the world. He could handle any project. Dad and Mom travelled extensively in their motorhome which has taken them across Canada; many times to Florida and the Southern United States. They made winter trips to Mexico with their family and a cruise that was a highlight for Dad. Dad's favourite pastimes included beating us all at cribbage, spending hours making puzzles, fishing, golfing and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada. Dad took us every Sunday night for his special "Sunday Treat". Dad taught us a strong work ethic, the value of a dollar and the love of our family. Pallbearers were Stan's grandsons Jarett, Krystof, Garren, Garth, Hartley, Travis, Nathan, Timothy, Kolton, Austin, Tanner and Torrin. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes, a private family service was held in celebration of Stan's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff and physicians at the Tudor Personal Care home, Staff at Gimli Hospital and especially to Dr. R.C. Patel. Don't worry Dad "the lights are off, the doors locked and we are all safe" Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • We had the honor and privilege of meeting Stan during the "courtship" and subsequent marriage of his granddaughter, Trystaen, to our son, Josh. Seeing Stan and Helen together was always heart-warming and inspiring. Having met many members of the Krulicki family, it is clear that Stan was a strong, kind and loving man, who taught important family values, and whose legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with Helen and her family at this time. - Posted by: Bob & Elaine Klinck () on: Jul 23, 2013
