Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKARL FREDERICK KIRNER February 26, 1954 - July 25, 2013 Karl was born February 26, 1954 to Mary and Eric Kirner. He was the oldest of six children and grew up on the family farm in Little Britain. Karl attended school at Lockport, Mapleton and Lord Selkirk Comprehensive. He accomplished his private pilot's license at St. Andrew's Flying Club and completed his commercial pilot's license in Thunder Bay, ON. He leaves to mourn his wife Donna; sons Matthew (Crystal), Michael and girlfriend Meghan; he celebrated and loved his grandson Nash. He is also survived by parents Mary and Eric; brothers Gord (Cathie), Don (Liz), Tom (Lianne) and brother-in-law Charles. He was loved and supported by his many family and friends. He will be missed by all. He was predeceased by his brother James (Paulette) and sister Wendy (Charles). He married Donna (nee Vail) in 1976 and raised two sons Matthew and Michael. He was a warm, loving family man who enjoyed everything he did, travelling, skiing, golfing, family and friends were all his passions. He retired from Air Canada in 2007 following a medical diagnosis of Parkinson's/MSA and dealt with the loss of his vitality with dignity and patience. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Karl's life will take place at the St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Little Britain on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkinson's, Heart and Stroke or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

KARL FREDERICK KIRNER Peacefully, on Thursday, July 25, 2013 with family by his side at the Selkirk General Hospital, Karl Kirner, aged 59 years, beloved husband of Donna and father of Michael and Matthew passed away. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Thursday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Little Britain with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. I didn't know Karl very long but in the short time that I did, I learned to admire his great strength of character, enthusiasm for jigsaw puzzles, sense of humour, and courage. We spent several evenings sitting in the Mexican sun and reminiscing about adventures of not so long ago.
