Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET JESSIE GRAHAM (nee MCLEAN) Margaret Jessie Graham (nee McLean), 87, of Winnipeg , MB, passed away on July 27, 2013. Margaret is predeceased in death by her husband William in 1990, brother Ian, son George in 1996 and daughter-in-law Louise in 2004. Margaret is survived by her daughters Ann (William Knowles), Jane, grandchildren Tracy Knowles (Ron), Jaclyn (Scott Drummond), Angela (Clinton Walker) and great-grandchildren Jacob and Teagan Walker and McKenna Drummond. Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 18, 1926. She was married to William Graham on November 19, 1949 and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. They immigrated to Canada with family in June 1956, to Crystal City, MB. She resided in Clearwater and Whitemouth before moving to Winnipeg in 1993. Margaret served in the Land Army in Scotland during the Second World War, was part of Scotland's Women's Rural Institute and was involved in a theatre group in her youth. She worked in Whitemouth Hospital for 11 years as part of the cleaning staff and moving up to head cook. Margaret enjoyed watching golf, baseball and curling. She spent many hours knitting socks and sweaters for her family and friends, playing crib, scrabble and solving puzzles. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Care Centre, Misericordia Hospital, Golden Links Lodge and the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion during the time she spent at their facilities. Cremation has taken place as per Margaret's wishes. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 17 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Reverend Doctor Gordon Taylor of Fort Garry United Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba: 6 Donald St. Winnipeg MB., R3L 0K6 or CancerCare Manitoba: 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
