I met Rolly in the early seventies as I was a friend of Doug's. Rolly was an extremely pleasant man, and it was always a pleasure to chat with him whenever I would see him at the airport. Doug, if you happen to read this message please give me a call. I am living in Montreal again and can be reached at (514) 694-2087. Maureen and I wish the entire Henault family deepest and sincere condolences. - Posted by: Jim Gregory (Friend of Doug's) on: Aug 19, 2013

When we moved into the neighbourhood 25 years ago our boys were six and two respectively. Rolly really took to our youngest Alex and was so nice to him. He would often stroll down to visit and tell stories that were so entertaining. He had a distinctive chuckle and we got such a kick out of him! Our sincere condolences to his family. He was a wonderful guy!! - Posted by: Mari and Hugh Bonner (neighbours) on: Aug 06, 2013

I enjoyed flying with "Roly", as he was affectionately called at work. He was always friendly and cheerful, always positive, always a gentleman, always fun to be around. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. When I last saw him at the Transair luncheon two years ago, he was his usual jovial self. We had a nice chat and I was so happy that we had the opportunity to meet again after so many years. The world would be a better place if there were more people like him. Well done, Captain Henault! My sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Maria Rose Anderton (Coworker) on: Aug 06, 2013

We always enjoyed our visits with Roland and Silvia in Winnipeg, Brandon and Arizona. We had many happy and adventurous airplane rides with Rolly and sometimes Silvia. Rolly's stories were always interesting and full of wisdom. His hangar flying stories helped teach us right from wrong. Although a Pilot, he cherished his model train display which he built, always willing to show anyone how it worked. He helped make our lives lighter with his humor and laughter. There was always a glass of wine offered and the hospitality was old fashion home grown. We miss you Roland, Roy & Phyllis Sobchuk - Posted by: Roy & Phyllis Sobchuk (Friends) on: Aug 05, 2013

I feel so fortunate to have known Rolly as both a friend and fellow pilot, he always made me feel good just being around him, always a smile or chuckle, on a working day he always combined professionalism with enjoyment, such good traits that were a natural part of his life. I flew with Rolly on the F-28, and the B-737. Early on, he still was able to have the cigar in the side of his mouth, along with the grin. Sad for him to go. -Rick Lovelace - Posted by: Rick Lovelace (pilot) on: Aug 05, 2013

He was the first to give me an airplane ride in his litle piper plane. He would come over and buzz over our house until we came out. He would give a wing signal, and we would see his cigar at the corner of his mouth. Then later he would phone my mom..which he would call..Ti Pup..and would say ..did you see me go around your farmyard..He was a great man and he will be missed. - Posted by: Raymond Touzin (friend) on: Aug 05, 2013

Mr Henault could be seen flying around the country side on Sundays over my home town of St Joseph during my youth giving demonstrations of prowess and stunts. He somewhat inspired me, I'm sure many others, to a career in the Air Force. - Posted by: Alfred Fillion (Admirer) on: Aug 04, 2013

There are so many stories. I wouldn't know where to begin. My first memory of Rollie was an early morning at Dauphin airport in the summer of 1966. I looked out the window to see the Stearman pulling up and Sylvia and some (maybe all) of the kids with a tank truck full of spray. I became the designated "crank-boy" to start the Stearman. Rollie was a cherished friend. Always good for a laugh. - Posted by: Bev. May (Friend) on: Aug 03, 2013
