BEVERLY (BEV) PEDINY November 19, 1944 - August 4, 2013 Just as the sun was beginning to rise on Sunday, August 4, 2013, with husband, son and daughter holding her hands, Bev left us to be at peace. Her battle was brief, but she fought it with dignity, grace, and courage - never making anyone feel uncomfortable in her presence. Bev was born November 19, 1944. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John; son Dale and his wife Mareth and two beautiful grandchildren whom she was so proud of, Daelle Lynn and Gregory; daughter Stacey and her partner Neil McCuaig. She is also survived by her mother Katherine Pasieka, sister Paulene Pasieka (Peter Wells), brother Donovan Pasieka (Diana), and niece Dawn Michelle Trevisanutto and her family. Also left to cherish her memory is her mother-in-law Sophie, sister-in-law Shirley DeVuono (Gino), and their sons James, Rick, and families. Bev was a member of the Transcona Garden Club; her beautiful gardens are a testament to her love of flowers. She was a sought after judge with the Horticultural Society, an achievement she was extremely proud of. Bev was also a huge presence at Park Manor Personal Care Home where she volunteered countless hours. Every Friday was "Beauty Club", and no matter how she was feeling off she went to paint the ladies' nails. She was loved by the residents and staff alike. Bev and John are in a neighbourhood that is a close community, she will be greatly missed by her neighbours. Especially her "Sweetheart" Glen and wife Debbie, as well as Sue and Terry. A Celebration of Bev's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013 at Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB, R2C 1L7. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to the Park Manor New Building Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Dear John I was very sorry to have read about Beverly's passing. I still remember when I was a junior flower girl for your wedding. How the years pass by so fast. Even though my mom is in a nursing home now I know she would want us to send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this time of sorrow. Take care. • I first met Bev at Park Manor Personal Care Home when I became a volunteer eight years ago. We soon became good friends, sharing stories, laughing and talking about anything and everything. Your strength and courage was an inspiration to me and I shall never forget you. You will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to Bev's family. - Posted by: Sandy Chartrand (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2013

  • Although we have not seen each other often since Bev and John moved to Winnipeg I will always remember our getting together for tea when they lived in Kenora. One memory I especially cherish is when Bev gave my daughter Kari her first perm. Kari then followed in Bev's footsteps and became a hair stylist. I aspired to become a great gardener as well but never have been able to reach the level of excellence that Bev was at. - Posted by: Loris Letain (old friend) on: Aug 07, 2013
