Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAINDHIA (RUBY) DEONARINE (nee PERSAUD) Peacefully, following a brief period of illness, it is with sadness we announce the passing of Gaindhia (Ruby) Deonarine (nee Persaud). Born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America on June 13, 1933 and passed away in Winnipeg, MB on August 5, 2013. Ruby was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Jairam; her son Keith and her brother Eustace. She is survived by her children Patricia (Harry), Gary (Savitri), Denis (Eleanor), and Anthony (Zubeda); her grandchildren, Vanessa (Jay), Steven (Deborah), Keith, Karla, Jacqueline (Cristian), Andrea, Melissa, Paul, Cheryl, Jason, and Kristi; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Katherine, Sarah, Hailey, Sofia, Liam, and Athena. Also cherishing her memory are her sisters, Irma (Hazrat), Sheila (late Joe), Shirley, her brother Harry (Rajkumari), and by her many nieces and nephews. Ruby was affectionately known as Miss Ruby or The Mistress. It was her strong, commanding character built in a tiny frame which earned her title among the many she welcomed into her heart and into her home. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and her generosity. She will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. In keeping with Ruby's wishes, her funeral service will be held at Thomson "In the Park". Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9; Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013.
