To Brian's family: It was with much sadness to have learned of Brian's passing. We grew up in the same South End neighbourhood in Brandon, from the time we were kids until we finished high school. We used to play "Kick the Can" and other games in the back lane! Brian and I were in the same class in Grade 11 and Grade 12 at Neelin High School. I don't know how he got the nickname, but, when we were young, we always called Brian "Puddin"! Sadly, Brian is one more of a growing number of 'old' neighbourhood friends who have passed away in recent years. I guess now they can play "Kick the Can" in Heaven! May your many memories bring you comfort during this time of sadness. I hope it helps somewhat to know that others are keeping you all close in thought. ~ Kindest personal regards, Donna - Posted by: Donna Hogeland - Morley, AB (Childhood Friend) on: Aug 15, 2013

Cancer has taken a member of our family far too early in life! Our sincere sympathy goes out to Elsie and all the family. We have lost touch in recent years but I have many great memories of Brian's visits to our farm and my visits to Brandon (often during the Brandon fair) during our pre-teen years. It is good to know that retirement, grandchildren and the cottage brought Brian so much happiness in recent years. Larry and Vivian Westbrook - Posted by: Larry Westbrook (cousin) on: Aug 12, 2013

My sincere sympathy to Elsie and family. I grew up with Brian in Brandon on 12th Street. Spent many hours playing in the streets, playing road hockey, kick the can, running around the old fair grounds (now the Keystone Grounds), swimming at the local pool. My thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Doug Karnes (friend) on: Aug 10, 2013

Elsie, So very sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I had the opportunity to see him at the Grace when you were in for your surgery. Wish I had come to visit. Please know that my thoughts are with you and the family. - Posted by: Heather Campbell (Co-worker) on: Aug 10, 2013
