Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN MAUREEN WHATMAN Joan Whatman passed away on July 30, 2013 after her 89th birthday, at the Charleswood Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Joan is survived by her only child Howie (Marilyn) and grandsons Trevor (Rose) and Kevin. Joan grew up in the Riverview area, and enjoyed rowing and her piano. Going from totally independent to totally dependent in a heartbeat was not easy. The last eight months were not easy for her. Early on Joan would do the rounds in her chair at Deer Lodge with the staff. When she could not be found, all you needed to was look in the staff room or on the floor to find her visiting. At Joan's request, cremation has taken place, no formal service will be held. Private burial in family plot to follow.
