MILDRED COLEEN O'HALLORAN Suddenly on July 29, at Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Orillia, Ontario, Coleen O'Halloran (nee Taylor) went to be with her Lord at the age of 87. Coleen was raised in Poplar Point, Manitoba, the daughter of David and Marjorie Taylor (both predeceased). Step-daughter of Arthur Webb (predeceased) of Winnipeg. Sister of Blake (Irene) (both predeceased) of Winnipeg, and Floyd (Clara, predeceased) of Portage La Prairie. Coleen then moved to Winnipeg where she met her future husband, B.C. (Mike) O'Halloran. They had 43 years of loving marriage, before Mike passed away in 1993 at their home on Jackson Avenue, Winnipeg. Their only child, Jill and her husband Tom Marchant of Commanda, Ontario, mourn the loss of her parents. Coleen's two grandsons, Allen Marchant of Orillia, ON and Michael Marchant of Commanda, ON will miss their Nanny's wit and smile. Left to remember her, are her nephew, Randy Taylor (Frankie) of Poplar Point, niece Jane (Len) McClinton of McBride, BC, Nephews, Andy Taylor (Tracey) and Bob Taylor (Pam), all of Portage La Prairie. Coleen was a long time member of St. Alban's Anglican Church in Winnipeg. Upon her move to Ontario, she became a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Washago. A Veteran Life member of St. James Rebekah Lodge, Coleen joined in 1953. She was presented with the prestigious "Decoration of Chivalry" award by the Rebekah Lodge in 1986. For many years, she has been a member of the Zuanna's in Winnipeg. Coleen was a dedicated fund raiser for the Manitoba-Northwestern Ontario chapter of the Canadian Marfan Association. Donations would be greatly appreciated and can be made to the Canadian Marfan Association at http://www.marfan.ca/ in Coleen's name. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Washago on Friday, August 2. Interment will be with her husband Mike at the Thomson In The Park Cemetery McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg later this fall. A memorial service and reception will be held at this time. Date, time and place will be announced in this paper.
