EDWARD EMILIEN (PETE) HUPE
Date of Passing: Aug 08, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD EMILIEN (PETE) HUPE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, pepère, grand-père Pete on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Dad is lovingly remembered by his children Gerri (Bob), Mark (Nancy) and Teresa (John), his grandchildren Jack, Kristin, Alex, Brynn and Taylor (Tyler), great-granddaughter Khloe, sister Myra (Dave), brother Edgar (Lorainne), and sisters-in-law Marie, Joan and Inga. He was predeceased by his wife Thérèse (Terry), his father Arthur, mother Flora, brothers Bernard (Lillian), Léonard, Adélard, Gérald, Noël, and sister Mabel (Sam). Dad worked at Canada Packers for 35 years and retired early when the plant closed. This gave him the opportunity to care for his grandchildren. Being a jack of all trades he was willing and able to help anyone who needed assistance with plumbing, carpentry and auto repair. Dad and Mom built the family cottage which provided us with many wonderful memories. As a self-taught guitarist he entertained at many family parties. He preferred country music and played a mean Johnny Cash but always ended with Vaya con dios my darling to Mom. Dad married Mom on August 13, 1955. Since the day of their marriage everything they did they did together. Mom passed away on July 29, 2013 and Dad joined her 10 days later. The family would like to thank Dr. Ted St. Goddard, Manivan, Lorraine, Larissa and all the staff at Riverview 3E for the wonderful care, compassion and understanding they provided to Dad and his family. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Interment of Thérèse and Edward's cremated remains will take place at the St. Boniface Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 9Z9. Go with God pepère! To the family of Aunty Terry and Uncle Pete: Just wanted to let you know what wonderful people your parents and grandparents were - loving, kind, thoughtful and always ready to help out. You were all so lucky to have them in your life and I hope that your memories will sustain you through this painful period of grieving. Aunty Terry and Uncle Pete came all the way to The Pas to visit me and my family twice - just to let me know that they cared about me and loved me. Due to a family rift, I didn't have a chance to get to know them when I was growing up but they wanted me to know that they hadn't forgotten. That's the kind of giving loving people they were. Rest in Peace ma tante et mon oncle - I'm so glad they are together now. - Posted by: Kathy McKay (nee Morin) (niece) on: Aug 19, 2013
