WAYNE JOHN SUTHERLAND July 28, 1956 August 10, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband and father at home in his sleep on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the age of 57. Wayne is predeceased by his parents Anna and William Sutherland and sister-in-law Sharon McRae. Left to cherish Wayne's memory is his wife Cindy Sutherland (nee Koniski), son Kevin (Val Lachance), brother William (Ruth) Sutherland, niece Shauna (Ryan) Mather, great-nieces and nephews; Kayden, MacKenzie, Sadi, nephew Brent Sutherland, parents-in-law Mike and Tillie Koniski, brother-in-law Colin McRae and son Brennan, sister-in-law Janice Troughton (Pete Szekely) and many friends. Wayne was born in Pine Falls and grew up in Great Falls, MB where he attended school and later at Lac du Bonnet. He joined the army for less than a year in Nova Scotia. He moved to Thompson to work at Midwest Drilling and held various jobs in construction. Wayne met his wife Cindy in 1978, married in 1984 and became a father in 1987. He was a journeyman carpenter with the Union Local 343. Wayne eventually became a truck driver, fulfilling his childhood dream and working with his son at Maple Leaf Construction. Wayne had many jobs throughout his life and became a friend to many. He enjoyed following his son's childhood hockey, fishing at the family cottage, golfing when he could and watching stock car races as well as Nascar. He had a very special place in his heart for the neighbor's dog Jessie.
