Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved her. To Betty, Bruce, Bob and her children and grandchildren, our deepest sympathies. Kathy was a wonderful artist. I and my children cherish her artwork. I was saddened to hear of her passing. I was so happy that I had spoken to her in mid August. I regret that I won't be having any more telephone chats with her. She always made me laugh. Our family of five visited Kathy and Bob and went sailing with them and one of the boys. We have fond memories of our visits to Gimli. - Posted by: Veronique, spouse of the late Clarence Mitchell. George, Helen and Sandra. (Clarence Mitchell's family. We met at last year's Wave & she told me the story about "Mrs. Kasupsbies Onions". She was so genuinely interested in my art and told me I should always finish every painting I start, even if I don't like it because: "You don't know, it might be exactly what catches someone else's eye." I have been taking her advice seriously, and was hoping to tell her that. Also, that her framed card with the onions, hangs proudly in my kitchen as a daily reminder. My thoughts and prayers to all of you who knew and loved her. - Posted by: Marlane L. Mazur (visitor and admirer) on: Aug 30, 2013

Kathie was my mentor. She taught me most everything I learned about art in my first years with the art club. More than that I would visit her and Michael when they ran their shop in front of art club. She told me once that I should not further my art studies at university for "you would loose the innocence of your work". I respected her for that. We shared some very personal moments at times during those years we were both going through relationship difficulties. Even though Kathy we didn't spend much time together the last few years I am honored to call you "friend" RIP . Until we meet again. - Posted by: Lauren Williams Laing (Fellow artist) on: Aug 26, 2013
