IRENE LOUISE LAWSON It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene. Mom passed away with loving family by her side on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband Roderick and grandson Corrie Jr. Irene is survived by her daughters Marjorie (Cass), Heather (Corrie), Sandra (Connie), Sherry, and son George (Elaine), 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Irene was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on June 23, 1920. She moved to Melita, Manitoba where she met and married Roderick and then on to Winnipeg where she lived for many years at their home in the Elmwood area. Mom was a very caring and gentle soul who only saw the good in people. She was always so loving and ready to share whatever she had, however meager it was, never putting herself first. Well done mom, a life well lived. A mom's hug lasts long after she lets go. Thank you mom for everything. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A special thanks to the Munroe Pharmacy for their service and care over the years, and also to Dr. Welch and Dr. Fotti. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

So sorry for your loss. Your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was an amazing womAn so full of life and very thankful for her wonderful family. Irene allowed me to do an essay on her for nursing school at which point i got to know her very well. I got the chance to ask her some interesting questions which she had no problem answering but, it always went back to the same topic her children and grandchildren. She loved you guys very much and was thankful to spend time with you all. Although she is not here on earth anymore physically her spirit will always be with you. Through her words and the things she taught each one of you, she will never be forgotten. - Posted by: Angela Harper (Family Friend) on: Aug 29, 2013

My condolences to the Lawson Families, Mrs. Lawson was a wonderful woman, whom I am sure will be sadly missed. I grew up across the street from Mrs. Lawson, I was always fond of her gentle caring ways. Shelley - Posted by: Shelley Orvis (Neighbor on Martin Ave East) on: Aug 29, 2013
